Lhal – الحال | The Cry Of An Entranced Generation is a story, a song, a melody. The performance revives the traditional form of halqa – which means circle in Arabic – an ancient form of street theater originating from Morocco, where spectators form a circle around the performer. The show aims to bring this art form to life through storytelling, song, poetry, and music, narrating various anecdotes of a boy and his grandmother. These tales include family gatherings, such as a wedding celebration, a visit to a shrine, a journey to Italy and encounters with strangers. Lhal – الحال, or trance, also represents the loss of rhythm and an attempt to reconnect with one’s roots through memory.

Mohamed Amine Bour, Younes El Bouzari, and Youssef El Gahda form the Harraga Lab - Teatro Clandestino (formerly: Shebab Met Project). They were trained within the Bolognese theater company 'Cantieri Meticci' and share the desire to make theater their profession. They develop a method of collective dramaturgy and directing, made up of frameworks, keywords, and experiments. The dramaturgy arises from the lives of the members, organized into songs and song drafts, into attempts at songs. Because it is a simple, accessible way. The direction comes from dance worlds, from improvisations, from rituals practiced in the cultural contexts from which the members come. They won the Premio Scenario per Ustica 2017 with the show I Veriferici. Inchiesta sotto forma di disco.
